[IMPORT] Pet Breed and Color
When applying for a Pet Import Permit or going through airport quarantine (MAQIS) in Malaysia, you are required to provide the pet’s Breed and Color.
For dogs, it’s usually straightforward – e.g., "Toy Poodle", "Shiba Inu". But for cats, many are mixed breeds or rescues, and owners often ask, “What should I write for breed?”
In such cases, the following terms are commonly used and accepted internationally:
- Japanese Cat
- DSH (Domestic Short Hair)
- DLH (Domestic Long Hair)
These terms indicate non-pedigree domestic cats and are suitable for paperwork.
As for color, keep it simple: "White", "Black", "Brown Tabby", "Calico", etc.
If you're not sure how to describe your pet, feel free to send us a photo — we’re happy to help!
